Option 1 - Sponsors' Golf Day

The Hamilton Island Golf Club is located on Dent Island and features some of the most spectacular views of any golf course in the world. It plays host to our Sponsors’ Golf Day on Thursday afternoon from noon - 5pm.

Option 2 - Reef Ryder Two in One

Make the most of your time in the Whitsundays with a half day speed-boat tour aboard Reef Ryder to snorkel Chalkies Beach and discover the pristine beauty of Whitehaven Beach.

The trip consists of 30 minute travel time to Chalkies Beach for one hour of snorkelling. Chalkies beach is home to a wide variety of marine life, including visiting turtles and manta rays. You will also get an hour at Whitehaven Beach where you can wander the beautiful white sands or feed the fish. If you’re feeling energetic, you can walk to the lookout at Tongue Point or join in on some beach games.

Single Room Upgrade

A single room can be booked via the registration process.

If you wish to have a room to yourself during the conference the single room upgrade for three nights is $460.50.

If you want to bring your partner/spouse/family to Hamilton Island, the best option is to book and pay for your own room. The single room upgrade for three nights for up to two adults and two children (12 and under) in the room (utilising the existing bedding of two queen beds) including breakfast is an additional $541.50 on top of the conference registration fee.

Beach Club Accommodation

Upgrades to the Beach Club are available on a limited basis. The price to upgrade for the three nights of the conference for two adults is $1,399.50 on top of the conference registration fee and includes:

Family Rooms (two queen size beds in one room and two king single beds in the other) consisting of an interconnecting room (without a balcony) are available on a limited basis. The surcharge for a family room for up to two adults and four children (12 and under) including breakfast is an additional $970.50 on top of the conference registration fee. Family Rooms accommodate a maximum of 6 people utilising the existing bedding.

Cancellation policy

Registration Cancellation

  • A non refundable fee of $300 along with any additional credit card fee will apply to cancellations made between registering and 12th August
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations made after the 12th August

  • The single room supplement fee of $460.50 will be refunded if members notify the event organisers before 12th August

Hamilton Island is one of the 74 tropical islands in the Coral Sea, between the Queensland Coast and The Great Barrier Reef. It is the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays, positioned nearly half way between the coastline of Brisbane and Cairns.

Transportation

Conference attendees are responsible for their own flights to Hamilton Island.

Return airport transfers are included and meet all flights into Hamilton Island.

Departing transfers to the airport are also included and arranged by the hotel.

Flights

Flights are your own responsibility. Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar fly direct to Hamilton Island from Sydney and Brisbane and Qantas flies direct from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns. Virgin also fly direct from Melbourne.

Getting to the hotel

Return airport transfers are included and all flights are met on arrival.

Climate

It's Spring in September in the Whitsundays. The weather is very predictable with an average daily temperature around 25°C. The evenings can still be cool.

Conference attire

Smart casual dressing is recommended during the daytime conference sessions and the Welcome Dinner Reception and State Dinners. A jacket is recommended as the evenings can be still quite cool. Something a little more glamorous is recommended for the Gala Awards Dinner i.e. suit and tie for men and cocktail dresses for women.

Additional nights can be booked via the registration process. A credit card will be required to guarantee your booking for any extra nights and full pre-payment will be required 30 days prior to arrival. Part or full cancellation of any extra nights made within 30 days of arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Golf

The Hamilton Island Golf Club has some of the most spectacular views of any golf course in the world. Designed by champion golfer Peter Thomson, the par 71 course on neighbouring Dent Island measures 6,120 meters and is the only 18 hole golf course on its own island in Australia. The championship course has been designed to challenge all levels of golf enthusiasts, from novice to professional golfers.

We have negotiated a discounted price of $77 (9 holes) and $112 (18 holes) with the club. Buggies on Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island's iconic golf buggies offer a convenient and fun way to get around the island - at your own pace. Buggies are not necessary as the Convention Centre is located adjacent to the Reef View Hotel and transport is provided to all evening events (if applicable) however they are in demand and sometimes difficult to secure if you wait until you arrive on the island.
